Kaylyn has been working as an Educator and facilitator in the arts since 2019. She has taught classes to a wide range of age groups from three years old and up. She worked in recreational arts programming with children at camps and afterschool programs, has taught after hours programming for youth and adults, and has taught privately. Kaylyn is dedicated to being the best educator she can be and believes that anyone can learn anything, so long as their educator is dedicated, excited, and patient.
In 2026, Kaylyn hopes to pursue an after degree in education through UBC’s WKTEP program in Nelson, BC.

Sketchbooking | Oxygen Arts Centre | 2025
Designed and taught a 4-week program for adults about sketchbooking. Exploring the sketchbook as a place for experimentation and private creative space. Taught different materials methods and techniques. Trying out different artistic styles and aesthetics.
Textiles | Oxygen Arts Centre | 2025
Designed and taught a 4-week program for adults around textiles with a focus on embroidery and mending. Taught different embroidery stitches, tested different types of fabric interfaces, and mended garments brought in by participants.
Youth Mural Project | Rotary Centre for the Arts (RCA), Kelowna, BC | 2024
Co-led with artist Sheldon Louis
Co-facilitated collaborative mural design workshops for Grade 10–12 students. Themes of the mural focused on the local environment of the Okanagan and the wide range of arts and culture in the local community. Managed grant reporting, coordinating with school district students and teachers, design workshops, procurement, painting, and installation of the mural while concurrently fulfilling the role of Educational Program Coordinator. Co-instructed students in planning, drawing, and painting techniques to execute the final mural.
Arts Blast | RCA Summer Camp | 2023 – 2024
Designed and taught visual art classes for children aged 5–12 using a variety of mediums (drawing, painting, watercolours, sculpture, collage, etc.) Served as interim instructor while concurrently fulfilling the role of Educational Program Coordinator.
Intro to Block Printing | Rotary Centre for the Arts | 2023
Designed and delivered a 4-week adult class on linocut printmaking. Covered planning, carving, and various printing methods on paper and fabric.
Family Art Drop-In | RCA Summer of Arts | 2023
Led weekly all-ages multimedia workshops over 6 weeks. Designed and delivered age-appropriate lessons using a variety of mediums (watercolour, printmaking, sculpture, etc.) Encouraged intergenerational participation, with parents assisting children and creating their own work.

Designed and taught 8-weeks of multimedia art classes for youth aged 13–17. Emphasized independent exploration and project-based learning using a variety of media (Embroidery, collage, upcycling, printmaking, etc.) Conducted classes while fulfilling the role of Educational Program Coordinator.

Designed and delivered two 10-week multimedia art programs for children aged 7–12. Lessons included watercolour, collage, sculpture, and more, with integrated games and group activities to maintain engagement.
Summer Arts Support Coordinator | Halifax Regional Municipality | 2022
Developed and led art classes and arts based games for children and youth aged 5–12 across five community centers. Provided mentorship and training to camp instructors on effective art program delivery for future camps.
Garden Mural Project | Parkallen Community League, Edmonton, AB | 2019
Organized and facilitated all-ages community workshops to use in the design of the mural. Managed grant writing and reporting, workshops, procurement, painting, and installation of the mural. Project funded by the City of Edmonton, Edmonton Arts Council, and Parkallen Community League.
